We see many versions of various lives of British saints on the internet. Often these are snippets taken from other internet sources or an earlier life (if you are lucky enough to find any!). The aim of this project is to use the earliest available sources and correlate dates to those of contemporary events and contemporary saints in Britain and Ireland at that time, and produce a readable Life of each Saint, which can be used as a basis for Synaxaria readings in Church.
These are intended as narrative pieces for the worshipping Orthodox community. Although extensive use is made of academic research, the various pros and cons of alternative versions, and detailed research is referenced although in the extensive footnotes. We aim to make a trustworthy and usable text which can be used as a source for liturgists and iconographers, and can be used to promote knowledge of the British Saints, in order to root the growing Orthodox communities in our ancient tradition
